What is the Karmic Tail?
In the Destiny Matrix system, the karmic tail is the sequence of numbers read from the bottom-left corner of your chart. While the rest of the matrix describes the energies you came to develop, the karmic tail describes the energies you came to resolve — patterns, talents and debts carried over from past lives.
The karmic tail consists of your material point D and three derived numbers:
- K1 — the primary karmic lesson. The theme your soul most urgently wants to work through in this lifetime. It often shows up as a repeating life situation.
- K2 — the deeper karmic pattern. A subtler energy that colors how you react under pressure; usually inherited from an earlier incarnation's unfinished business.
- K3 — the root karmic energy. The synthesis of K1 and K2: the core energy your past-life story revolves around.
How to Read Your Past Life Numbers
Each number from 1 to 22 corresponds to one of the Major Arcana. When a number appears in your karmic tail, read it through the lens of a past incarnation. A few examples:
